Internet Privacy Statement

Overview

To insure we take every reasonable step in protecting information that may become available to our organization through electronic interaction with our website, we have developed a Privacy Statement that describes how we collect, protect and use information about you during your visit on our web site.

We take online privacy seriously and this statement is one way of sustaining your trust in “Friends” and our services. Ongoing review of this statement is achieved through periodic internal evaluation and review. Revisions needed to comply with changes in any applicable current laws as well as new laws will be completed in a timely manner.

Throughout this statement, Friends of T.C. Steele State Historic Site, Inc. is referred to as the “Friends”.

Types of Information Collected and Use Thereof

Personally Identifiable Information. The “Friends” does not collect personally identifiable information (i.e., information that can be used to identify or contact you, such as your name, email address, or mailing address) from you unless you voluntarily choose to submit that information.  Should you choose to submit personally identifiable information, that information will be used to respond to your inquiries, and for other purposes that are consistent with this Privacy Statement, and permitted by law. The “Friends” do not share personally identifiable information with unrelated third parties and undertakes reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information it receives.

Statistical Information. The “Friends” may collect and monitor statistical information in order to better serve our clients. When you visit our site, we may collect and store information about your visit. This information may include the time and length of your visit, the pages you view on our site, domain names from which visitors originate and the name of your internet service provider. We use this data on an aggregate basis to measure site activity, and on an individual basis to make the site more useful to you.

Purpose of Collecting Personal Information

If you fill out a form on our site, we may ask for a variety of information to help us communicate with you and evaluate the services that may be right for you.  If you submit specific inquiries, this information will permit us to respond to your inquiries. However, if you choose to share any personal information with us, we will not use your information for future solicitation or advertisement.

While the “Friends” strives to safeguard your personal information, data storage and data transmission over the Internet, including e-mail, cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, the “Friends” cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit, and any information you transmit is done at your own risk. The “Friends” is not responsible for disclosures of your personal information due to errors in transmission or unauthorized or unlawful acts, and we encourage you to exercise prudence in selecting the information you send via the Internet, including via e-mail.
