News / Summer 2022 Newsletter / 2022 Wildflower Foray

37th Year!

The Friends of T.C. Steele continue their sponsorship for the Brown County Annual Spring Wildflower Foray, which occurred Friday, April 22nd and continued through Sunday, April 24th.

This year included 20 different activities and hikes, including wildflower and birding walks, hikes through the wetlands, nature photography. Additionally, there were 6 online virtual programing options available that participants could watch at their convenience.

The hikes were well attended and this year the wildflower count reached over 116 different species in bloom, including several new species.

The 3-day event saw a wonderful turnout despite minor COVID restrictions in place, that limited the groups size of some activities.

We want to recognize and thank Friends board member and Brown County resident Andrea Smith deTarnowsky for her work and service as a long-time member of the Wildflower Foray planning committee.

Friends of T.C. Steele is committed to supporting the 38th Annual Spring Wildflower Foray in 2023.  We hope to see you there!
