The Indiana University Campus
A new documentary produced by Indiana University makes a short but noteworthy nod to T.C .Steele’s time at the Bloomington campus of Indiana University.
The documentary premiered June 2nd on WTIU (public television from Indiana University). Viewers are provided a unique look at one of the most beautiful college campuses in America.
The documentary reveals the history and aspects of campus scenery, with its curving paths, isles of green, building the look at on nature, courtyards, benches, and artworks that encourage reflection.
The documentary is approximately 60 minutes and features a small segment regarding T.C. Steele spending his last three years as Honorary Professor of Painting where he had a studio on the top floor of the Library Building, now Franklin Hall. He served in this position until his death in 1926.
Additionally, there is a campus tour experience “Beautiful by Design: the Indiana University Bloomington Campus Tour Experience”. Led by IU Vice President Emeritus J. Terry Clapacs who will host a tour of rarely-seen IU gems on September 23. More information and tickets available here.
