We are delighted about our new partnership/sponsorship with Hoosier History Live. Hosted by author, journalist and historian Nelson Price, Hoosier History Live is a weekly live radio adventure that highlights Indiana history and airs live; noon to 1 p.m. eastern, each Saturday on WICR-FM 88.7 at the University of Indianapolis.
Beyond the radio show, Hoosier History live has a repository of podcasts available on all podcast platforms, as well as on Indiana Memory and the national Digital Public Library of America in partnership with the Indiana State Library. Indiana Memory – Indiana Memory is a digital library that enables access to Indiana’s unique cultural and historical heritage through a variety of digital formats and free distribution over the Internet. Indiana Memory is a collaboration of Indiana libraries, museums, archives, and related cultural organizations.
Digital Public Library of America, (DPLA), launched in April 2013 and brings together the riches of America’s libraries, archives and museums, and makes them freely available to the world. To accomplish this initiative, DPLA built a national digital platform to connect these institutions and to serve their digitized material to audiences.
“Hoosier History really is “Live” – and ‘Lively” as well. The program brings to new audience the delight and wisdom that comes with knowing more of our past and our connections as Hoosiers.”
James H. Madison, Emeritus History Professor, Indiana University
“Nelson Price, more than anyone I know, infuses joy into the pursuit of history. And that joy rings out loud and clear on the radio show, Hoosier History Live.”
