Mar. 18, 1:00-3:00, Steele and Stratton-Porter: 20th-Century Indiana Celebrities

In honor of Women’s History Month, learn more about two of the country’s celebrities of the early 1900s, Hoosier artist T.C. Steele and Hoosier author Gene Stratton-Porter. 

Mar. 26, 11:15-12:00, The Steele Library Special Tour
Did you know most of the books in the House of the Singing Winds belonged to T.C. and Selma Steele? Explore their personal library during this special guided tour.

Mar. 30, 2023, 10-11am: Curious Kids: Art + Nature:
Explore the world around us through hands-on activities, art making and science exploration while helping to build your child’s curiosity.

Apr. 1, 11:15-12:00: Children’s Tour

Discover vibrant art, explore nature and learn about the legacy of T.C. Steele during this morning tour designed specifically for children.

Discover vibrant art, explore nature and learn about the legacy of T.C. Steele during this morning tour designed specifically for children. 

April 6, 2023, 10am-12pm: Homeschool Thursdays: Wild about Wildflowers:
Let your child explore and learn more about the world around them during this two-hour class that features different topics in science, art, history and culture. Adults join their learners for an interactive family experience.

Apr. 7, 11:00-12:00, The Art Connection
This monthly program for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers includes a tour of the House of the Singing Winds and T.C. Steele’s Large Studio. After the tour, visitors will participate in an art activity. Registration required three days prior to program date.

Apr.15, 11:15-12:00, Large Studio Yoga Stars
Enjoy T.C. Steele’s Large Studio and the paintings on display while learning yoga poses – most of which are named for elements of nature!  

Apr. 22, 11:00-4:00: Arts of the Earth Day
Welcome spring during a self-guided walk through the gardens and grounds. Meet artists at work around the site, plus discover our famous daffodils and spring flowers throughout the gardens.

Apr. 22, 11:00-4:00: Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Dress your teddy bear and dolls in their springtime best and join in the Teddy Bears’ Picnic during Arts of the Earth Day. Listen to the story of “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic” by Jimmy Kennedy at 1 p.m., then enjoy cookies and lemonade by the formal garden. 

Apr. 27, 2023, 10-11am: Curious Kids: Spring Gardner:
Explore the world around us through hands-on activities, art making and science exploration while helping to build your child’s curiosity.

Apr. 28 – 30, 7:00-5:00, 38th Annual Wildflower Foray
Experience nature and flowers through hikes and other programs during this three-day, co-operative event throughout Brown County. 

May 4, 2023, 10am-12pm: Homeschool Thursdays: Indiana Fossils:
Let your child explore and learn more about the world around them during this two-hour class that features different topics in science, art, history and culture. Adults join their learners for an interactive family experience.

May 25, 2023, 10-11am: Curious Kids: Our Five Senses:
Explore the world around us through hands-on activities, art making and science exploration while helping to build your child’s curiosity.
