by Betty Wagoner, Board Member
Artist and Friends’ Board Member, Betty Wagoner, offers artists a chance to sketch, paint or write in the Steele studio. A single artist or a group of artists are invited to spend up to three hours in the studio. The cost is that of a tour (adults $7).
The studio is a special space. Steele paintings and artifacts available for study. North light streams in from the remarkable north-facing windows. The light is especially charming on a sunny day.
Many of us have painted these studio windows from the outside. Here is a chance paint the outside scene from the inside, through these same windows. Selma Steele writes in the book “House of the Singing Winds: The Life and Work of T.C. Steele”, “…we entered wholeheartedly into the painter’s dream of building a studio—spacious and splendidly lighted”.
A staff member or a Friends board member must be present during a studio session. Betty is offering to be in the studio while an artist is working there. To schedule a time in the studio, call or e-mail the office at the contacts listed below. Please have several dates in mind as schedules must be coordinated with the staff and Betty.
